How is this jewelry made?
Using heavy weight polyester thread, a tiny size 12 crochet hook (the size used for lace making) and a strong pair of glasses. The beads are first strung onto a spool, and then crocheted from there. The jewelry consists only of thread and beads.
Is the jewelry durable?
Yes! This jewelry is not made with cotton thread which rots. Instead I use polyester thread which can get wet. The jewelry can be washed with lukewarm water and mild detergent.
Is it comfortable to wear?
Yes, the cord is pliable and molds to your body. The bracelets are especially comfortable because they are soft and have no clasp to get in your way or crash into things like typical bracelets.
Is your silver sterling?
Yes, all silver in this jewelry is sterling silver. Most of the small smooth sterling beads in the bracelets and necklaces are USA made. Other silver, particularly the larger more decorative beads come from Bali, Thailand and Turkey.
How do you put the bracelets on? Do they stretch?
They roll on. Put your thumb into the palm of your hand and roll. The bracelets do not stretch like elastic. However the thread has some give, which allows the bracelets to go over your hand and then return to their original size.
